Well, I purchased this new 2009 Boba Fett costume and had a problem with the first one as the jet pack was cracked in several spots. BuyCostumes.com replaced the costume and I received it in time for my Halloween party. Two of the pieces had to be reglued as they had come loose in shipping but this was a minor problem. Some of the velcro on the gauntlets also had to be reglued. The only other improvement I made was darkening the tint on the helmet as you could see your face. The costume takes some time to put on as the plastic armor pieces and jet pack are attached with either velcro or straps. Other than the boots which are not included, the costume is as shown on the site. All in all, it's a pretty cool costume!

The costume has a distinct lack of quality control given the high price. It can be fixed though, as I'll detail below. Problems: - The missile and tubing on the guantlets was attached with just hot glue and they had come off. - The l plastic loop in the butt armour was detached (hot glue problem again). - The paint job on the armour, jetpack and helmet would be OK if they hadn't gone crazy with the silver paint. The dent in the helmet looks like a starburst and the simulated scrathes on the jetpack are comical. - The velcro on the tubing is not well secured, the same can be said of alot of the velcro on the armour parts. - The chest armour is flat rather than curved, makes it difficult to secure it to the vest. - The Jetpack is made from two molded parts and they are very poorly mated together, results in very uneven joints, etc. - Helmet visor is not dark enough and your face can be seen. Fixes: - Use auto window tint on the inside of the visor so your face cannot be seen. - Reinforce the lower face parts of the helmet with fiberglass tape and resin (it's really thin plastic) and repaint the helmet. - Use bondo on the jetpack to fix the seams. Sand and repaint. - Fix the gaunlets by reattaching the rocket and tubing using glue and a couple of screws. - Heat the body armour with a hairdryer, it can then be shaped to fit properly. Also, it's thin plastic, reinforce with fiberglass tape and resin. - Reaffix all the velcro with glue, it's not well secured otherwise. As you can see, it's a fair amount of work to fix it up considering the high price tag. More attention to detail and this might actually have been a pretty good costume out of the box.
