This year we set up a Mr. Dead animatronic skull with a torso and half an arm - jaw moves and eyes flash with each work of about a dozen dialogs on the computer. We cut a hole in a sheet of pegboard and covered the board with this catacombs scene setter pattern. Mr. Dead is posed coming out of the wall. We then sliced the back part of foam skulls off at various angles and glued them to the wall. Next year I think we'll add more holes to the wall to make it looks more like a cave wall and less like a flat wall. We'll add more skulls too. At night we light the wall with one Blue LED spot and one Green LED spot. It makes the wall and everything on it a uniform greenish-gray.

Creepy, Love it!

This really looked great and just like the catacombs! The only thing about it, is that my tunnel into the haunted cave was a bit too bright with the strobe bouncing off this lighter background, so I am going to put spooky material in front of this next year and see how it goes. It really looks awesome tho' !

Good Value / Thin Plastic

This is a lot of 'bang for your buck'. I didn't use it as a full background but cut out 'piles' of bones to place around the room...and lined a deep bookcase that sort of looks like a hiding place. However the plastic is very thin and easy to crinkle or tear so you have to be careful with it. Also, the way it's packaged makes the wrinkles that come in it hard to smooth out. However, for the price, it's great. One thing to think about though is the smell! I'm not particularly sensitive to things but it's got a permanent marker smell to it that gave me a headache the day I put it up. You may want to plan on hanging it outside to air out for a couple of days ahead of time.
