Title: cute, but with a few issues
Date: Oct 14, 2008
This costume is very cute! Its a velvet-like material that is soft, and warm.
I, like other reviewers, found the material in the puffed area of the arms to be very itchy! I am not sure yet how I will deal with that, but I don't think I can wear it all Halloween with it as is.
Size wise, I ordered a medium since I have a small frame up top, and figured that's where my fit would be most crucial. Well, it was a little tricky to get on, and it is form fitting. Its just right up in the chest area. So, I would say once its on, its a perfect fit. I am about 5' 8" and 143 pounds.
The crown does come flat, and I set it with a twist tie to create a curve. My packaging came with a red heart sticker to put onto the crown.
The skirt is much shorter in back than the front, so some of the ruffled undies or boy shorts might be a good idea. I am wearing it with black and white striped tights from this website to help with that issue, and may get some ruffled panties to go under it as well, for effect. I love the detail of the heart shaped lace on the petticoat. This helps cover the back a bit, but I did find I had to wear it low on my hips to get it to show like the picture above. The petticoat won't add much pouf, its more decorative, so if you want pouf, get a different petticoat.
The collar also doesn't stay up at all, and looks weird all the way down. You can get it to stay half up for a little while, but eventually it lays flat.
All in all, very cute costume, definitely happy with it, and was definitely worth the current price.

Title: Good buy
Date: Oct 10, 2008
Overall I love this costume.
The costume was pretty true to size. The sleeves felt a little tight at first, but after wearing it around for a while I got used to it. The dress isn't as short as other costumes, but I probably shouldn't bend over. I'll probably go out with little shorts underneath it.
One down side is there is this itchy-scratchy material in the shoulder part of the sleeves to keep it puffy. I find it tolerable, though I'm considering putting something in there to make it more comfortable.
The crinoline wasn't stiff and only helped shape the costume a little bit. I also found the crinoline to be a bit too short. I had to wear it very low on my hips for it to even show a little under the dress.
The crown is really just a cheap piece of plastic. It comes flat in the package, and I guess you're supposed to bend it and stick it on your head. I'm afraid that it will snap if I try to do that though. Also It does not have a little red heart on the front of it. The beads on the top of the crown are black and not read as shown in the picture.
Also there are these little red ribbons/straps on the side of the dress that you don't see in the picture. You just take them and tie them into a little bow or knot in the back.
I look forward to wearing this costume on Halloween.
