Title: Really Made our show!

We are a small community college just starting out doing plays in our largest classroom. Several of our actors are special needs students with learning disabilities which means many of them cannot or wil not wear traditional costumes--especially if they are heavy or constricting. We presented Chris Durang's THE ACTORS NIGHTMARE earlier this month and hit on the perfect solution (both in terms of budget and in terms of the actors' special needs). For our big final scene--satirizing A MAN FOR ALL SEASONS where Sir Thomas Moore loses his head--we purchased two BRAIDED MAIDEN HATS (at a great price by the way--thanks!) and suddenly a scene that was going nowhere came to life. The long, whispy white scarf that circles the well constructed and very "period" looking small hat was light weight enough that it didn't bother the actors while at the same time these hats set the scene for us wonderfully in ways that full costumes would not have. The changes were written into the script as being very fast and again, these hats went on quickly and stayed on! A great product we highly recommend (and the picture on your web site doesn't do them justice!). Thanks...NCCPAC
