This costume is for 2-4 year olds. My son just turned two so I knew it would be on the tall side. I'm just going to roll up the pants and sleeves. As far as the opening for the head, the kid who is modeling the costume has room for their hair to stick out. I thought this may be a probkem for my two year old. However, his head fit fine in there....makes me wonder if my kid has a big head for 2 years old! The costume is made of thick ployester/fleece-feel material so he will keep VERY warm when he is outside. In the house he was getting a little warm. Overall, this costime is cute. I'll have to go out and buy a separate devil stick.
