This product produced a lot less fog than I anticipated. Mostly it just stayed in the bowl. It sprays out a lot of water too, so make sure you put down a towel(s) under & around it. But, the overall effect with the lights and mist is really cool and it uses water vs. "fog juice" so with it's relatively low sticker price it's an economical Halloween conversation piece. I think if you use a container w/ a wide diameter the whole thing would be more effective. Hope this helps!

These work great wherever you want some fog or mist to flow for a short distance. The very best place is a cauldron. The water (fuel supply) is plentiful in the caulron and it will be a long time before you'll have to add water. The center cauldron in the pic is using one of these as is the cauldron on the right (that one on the right came with the witch). I also have a couple in the cemetary in bowls deep in overgrown grass near headstones.

This is great. The mist actually sinks like dry ice. Very easy to use. Just need a waterproof tablecloth if using indoors. Kind of small for outdoor use but would work on the porch. My husband played with this for an hour! Looks best with the lights out.

This little fog machine is amazing. I can't believe it only requires water to operate. It looks great.
