The Costume is very authentic looking. It does not appear to be cheap, which is very important in a costume. The only problem with the costume is that the vest has only a front with a faux elastic back. This is unacceptable to me, as the price of the costume is not cheap! I understand that it is probably so that the costume can fit more of a size range, but it still makes for a poor fit, especially when your child is on the lower end of the age range for the costume. I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a historical costume.

Good overall

My son wore this for a school presentation. Overall, it worked out well and looked good. I got it for about half the regular price--I am not sure I would have paid full price for it. I think it could be cheaper. I don't know that it would be good to wear for a long time. My son said the sleeves were stiff and that he was getting hot after about 30 minutes.

My son (9) used this costume for a speech he gave on George Washington. He looked great! I got him a medium, as he is really tall and thin, and it fit just perfect. I especially liked the jacket - it is really fabulous.

Great Costume

My son loved wearing this costume for Halloween. Be prepared for what DOESN'T come with the costume: wig and boots. We improvised a tricorn hat and added white sideburns and a white pigtail to hang from it; below, my son wore white stockings and slip on shoes to which we added fake buckles. Also, the ruffle underneath the jacket is not attached to a full shirt, so it helps to pin it to the jacket so it stays in place. We got lots of compliments on the costume. I really appreciated the excellent customer service at Buy Costumes, the easy-to-navigate website, and the prompt delivery--we ordered rather late, but the costume came on time, as promised. Thank you.

Quality Historical Costume

I purchased this costume for my 10 year old son to wear to school for Colonial Days. He loved it, it was good quality, and looked terrific. Hopefully my younger son will wear it again in a few years.
