Woodstock Revisited
My husband and my family -- about 15 in all- were going to Big Brothers Big Sisters Big Night in Jan. (2009). This year's band was The Steve Miller Band (formed in1968) and the theme was 1969: Woodstock. Everyone was asked to dress-up in an outfit reminiscent of the year (1969)- Bohemian, flower child, "Hair-the Musical"- "Go Go"-- Hippie. etc. Well, I'm no spring chicken and I am not Twiggy. I sit at a desk 12 hours a day and eat all the wrong foods, blah, blah, blah. I bought this Groovy Chick (Go Go) dress because I liked the colors. I'm a size 12. It fit well in size large (12-14). I would recommend the go-go boots for those who have the legs. Go go boots are fetching! I wore a pair of hippie bell bottom pants under the dress-- so it was like a tunic/blouse and danced all night. I got the hippie accessory pack for a few dollars more, with the peace necklace and earrings and head band and rose color glasses. I only wore the earrings, and gave the other bits away. The Steve Miller Band played for two solid hours and we raised nearly $2 million in donations to Big Brothers/Big Sisters. What a blast. I'd recommend this dress-- its super fun and easy to wear. I'll post a picture if i can.
