POOR worksmanship! NO NO NO!
I loved the original concept of this and HAD to go with it, cause the group theme was called & I had no time to change up. I was VERY DISAPPOINTED with the workmanship of this one! The price I paid of $40 was extreme! No more than $20 was this worth!
!st,~the halter holders were simply cut pieces of this cheap fabric that I was sure would rip & unravel with little pressure (top of pic), no pretty black lining as pictured. I double faced it all with black ribbon to clean it up and give it suppport. Also added a facing of white ribbon to the bottem hem, which was not nicely trimmed.
2nd~ sloppy, the peaks on the armlets were just CUT, totally raw edged, that was a fray disater in the making. Again I double faced with ribbon. (You can see the difference in the the 2 in pic) ANd the top edges were just hanging. So w/o time to tuck them the fabric would jump above the feathers. Not good when removing to go to the restroom
3rd~ The bottom fo the pic shows the waistline, not that you could see it, it just showed how poorly this was sewn AND cut! next to it is the bell bottom leg.. again the fabric hangs past the feather when you put it on. I hemmed this all up!
TERRIBLE!!!! For the price, I just expected so much more quality!
With at least 4 hrs of pinning and sewing I was able to bring this up to par for what it should have been, and then it worked out great for my convict theme of Jailbird Scheek!
The BEST part of this costume, especially compared to many other jailbirds of the evening was the HAT! The HAT was awesome... WOuld you believe I forgot it, at home!!! LOL
DOnt reccommend, unless you are getting it for bargain basement price, and then get what you pay for!!! (PS, if you try to wash, watch out, the feathers bleed black dye like crazy!)
