Fun Western Costume
I bought this costume for a western-themed murder mystery party. The colors are really bright, material is comfortable to wear and the costume fits well. (I’m a medium build) There are some nice details to it like the gloveletts, combed feather headpiece and the skirt fringe. The velvet-like corset attaches with Velcro around the back; this makes it very easy to fit a wide size range – you lace it up to your level of comfort. Yes, the bodice is slightly see-through, but a black camisole easily solves the problem! If you tuck up the sides of the skirt to make more of a bustle-look, try a pair of silky PJ shorts for comfort underneath! The neckpiece also attaches with Velcro and is quite large – again, to accommodate many sizes. I just put a few stitches in it to size it to me.
However, watch out for the Velcro meeting up with the bodice material! The Velcro is too strong for the bodice and will pull many of the shimmering threads resulting in a tatty look. The elastic in the upper arm area is rather narrow; I had to break some of the stitches for a bit of comfort.
All in all, a good costume and worth a try!
