Only half a costume, really
The skirt is pretty good: A solid, heavyweight cotton-rayon, crinkle-style underskirt with lightweight but substantial poly faux velveteen overskirt. The waistline has no closure: if you can't pull it over your hips it won't fit; and if you can, there's no elastic or tie adjustment (it fit me well enough). One ribbon was missing, so I could only tie up one side.
The bodice, though, is as cheap as they come. This poly faux velveteen fabric feels like paper--as if it could tear with any sudden movement. The ribbons are very short and cheap. The front stays came curled and I couldn't flatten them (good thing I didn't plan to wear this immediately). The lacing is too thin to hold for any length of time. The bodice should be worn with a chemise underneath. If I had known that the manufacturer brand was local to me, I might have stopped by and checked it out first. I didn't mark the sizing slider on this review, but this company's sizing chart is different than others: there are no measurements, and it specifies large as 14-16 (some specify large as 12-14).
