I loved the high quality of this costume. The costume matches the picture very well. The dress has a bodice and separate skirt that allows for a more custom fit. I chose to return it for a few reasons. First, I wanted to wear it at a Renaissance Fair and the long train of the skirt would have just dragged in the dirt and mud on the ground. The long “bell” sleeves would have gotten in the way anytime I tried to eat, drink or dig in my bag for an item. Finally, the “cuff” at the elbow was extremely restricting, it did not stretch at all and it was very uncomfortable to get above my elbow. I’m sure that if I could sew I would have been able to make some “workable” adjustments, but with the other issues I had determined that this was not the best costume for my needs. I really love the head scarf that covered my short hair and eliminated the need for a wig! If I was going to a fancy indoor dress party I would most certainly consider this costume again!

The fabric for this costume was very good quality, the thread and stitching, however, was not. It ripped the first time I tried it on, but my friend was able to fix it for me, as there was no time to send it back before my costume party. The sizing does run a bit large, but that was also easily fixed by my friend. The skirt itself is too long, so in order to avoid people stepping on it, we sewed a band of elastic to the longer end, and I wore it around my finger. I would advise against getting a wig with this costume, it would have been way too warm under the chainmail like scarf I wore over my head.

I went as Lady of the Lake(or medieval royalty) and my husband went as Lancelot. The gown was well made and gorgeous, happy to see made in the USA. The skirt was a pull on style made of stretchy velveteen, shorter in front with a bit of a train, the top had a half zipper in back, fully lined. I altered the straps...they were too long. Simple. Fit beautifully and was comfortable. I wore a small, true to size. I felt like a princess the whole night. I did not use the piece of material that went around the head, looked too heavy to me. Sleeves are very long, but I think royalty wore them that way. Do NOT try to cook anything after putting on this dress, LOL!
