This is a surprisingly good quality costume, especially for the price. It would be ideal for a smaller dog. And very cute! But, the "large" size that I bought would in no way fit my standard poodle, which is average sized for a standard, not particularly large. The length of the costume was perfect head to tail, and the elastic gathering at the base kept it fitting very well all evening, without having to go over the tail. However, the front legs were way too high up for her legs to even get into, so I sewed elastic to fit over her legs on both sides. The underbelly tie was also in need of my own ribbons sewn on. The hat has holes for her ears to go through, but she shook the hat off pretty quickly. It was still a cute costume and got lots of compliments. Like I said, she wore it for the whole party-over 4 hours without complaint.

The sizing on this costume is sooooo far off it is difficult to explain. I bought a large for my golden retriever. I put one leg in and the costume won't go over half of her back to come anywhere close to reaching the other leg. Was about 6 inches too small to do up under the belly, even if I could get both legs through. The part that is supposed to cover her head and have her ears go through is a couple inches too small as well. The large would fit a beagle or schnauzer.. if that. My retriever is female so she is also relatively small for the breed. I would exchange this for an XL but judging from this costume I don't think it would even fit her. The costume is really cute and seems to be good quality, but I would only purchase it if you have a SMALL or MEDIUM/SMALL sized dog.

I purchased this for my small dog and it was adorable. The only thing i didn't realize was that the head part of the costume was bigger than I thought, and her little head wouldn't stay on. She wasn't able to keep her ears in the holes as they were too large as welll. I did some alternations which helped a little but I know now that this was meant for dogs with a little larger ears. The body fit fine but I wish it was able to stay on her head.

The costume is extremely cute. However, unless your dog is used to be being dressed up, it is very difficult to get it on them. The front feet have to go through two holes at virtually the same time and then the hood needs to go up over the head and their ears have to be put through the holes. Very hard to do on a larger dog that is not used to be being dressed.

This costume is not made right. The top over the shoulders is too small and won't even fit a medium size dog. We have tried it. Unfortunatly we don't have the box any more, nor the package and we can't return it. So there it is, just sitting there by the trash can. Not a usable item. too bad, I thought it would have been great. We actually wanted to get a large group of dogs in the same costume and take them to a Halloween dog party. Sorry, but this was a waste of my money. karina.
