Fabulous costume!
This is a very beautiful and versatile costume. While its original intent is to be a "maid" costume, it could very well be used to dress as other things. It has a vintage vibe to it, (very "Mad Men" style, I'm a fan what can I say :) which is what drew me in, as well as the awesome clearance price of 6.99! (And let me add that that is what made me even more pleased with this purchase, beautiful, nicely made costume for less than ten dollars....that hardly EVER happens! :) I am going as something else this year, (and paid a heck of a lot more for too :) but this bargain could not be missed.
This is not like the majority of the maid costumes out there, not as "naughty'. :) This is more conservative, but I still think this costume is sexy in its own right. You can play up or play down how sexy you want to make it with shoes, stockings, and other accessories. It does have a timeless appeal to it regardless what you do, an elegant kind of sexy if you will. :)
My *only* qualm is the sizing. I am not a fan of the standard "one size fits all" (because no, I don't think one size always fits all) or the "fits sizes 1-4, 4-8, 8-12, 12-16"...you get my point. I'm 5'6, size 12 (with the continuing goal of working on trimming down :) This costume fit everywhere, (a little tight in my chest, but I am busty) but I feel it would be more flattering to my frame if I were a size 10. For the price I paid though I shouldn't even be complaining about this. :)
Overall pretty dang fabulous costume, and I am certain I will use it for something fun! Love buycostumes and use them for all my fun costume (and even party deco!) needs.
