Great idea in theory but it is very difficult to make the bird sit on your shoulder; he tends to fall over a lot. With some additional rigging I think he'll work, but I have yet to figure out how to make him not move.

This is by far the best fun prop to 'top off' a pirate outfit. Apart from a sword/ pistol etc , which all pirates seem to have. Not everyone has a parrot. Adds another dimension and a fun conversation piece.

This bird did not sit on my sholder as expected, and the legs broke after about 1 hour of attempted wear.

I loved the idea of having a parrot perched upon my husband's shoulder. However this parrot wouldn't stay still. We didn't end using it on Halloween because it kept slippign off. Very cute idea, but it just didn't work for us.
Great prop for a pirate or wench costume. Unfortunately, I wanted to wear it on my shoulder and the elastic ties do not readily enabled you to wear the bird. The ties are designed to pull the birds leggs apart if you tie them around an arm in opposite directions (as you need to do). It also doesn't stay on easily or comfortably -- I ended up placing it on a table in front of me. The attachment needs to be modified. This prop gets lots of attention and is fun to use -- realistic looking. People want to touch it, however, and the tail feathers were fairly easily detached and damaged.
