The valves were difficult to open and put air into. There were four valves: one for the lid, one for each side of the chest, and one valve for the front, back side and bottom of the chest. There should have been a valve for each side, because , of course, the valve for the front back and bottom didn't hold for longer than 30 minutes and the whole thing deflated. Worst $20 I ever spent..it was only used once, new out of the package, and it leaked. Too much trouble to send back. I tossed it.

This prop inspired my whole Halloween theme! We had a pirate graveyard with a map leading through the pirate graveyard and Davie Jones Locker (a blacked-out hallway, fogged, strobed and scary) to the pirate hideout where we gave out the pirate booty. I filled the chest with the air bag packing from my BuyCostumes order box, covered it with a red cloth and filled pirate booty bags (also from BC) to put inside. I inflated the chest several days before and had no problems with air leaking out. The kids loved it, we loved it! Thanks BuyCostumes!

I used this inflatable chest in a Halloween set up with a talking skeleton pirate. The chest had a little trouble staying inflated but it made it somewhat more realistic looking. Definitely worth the price for a quick and easy way to have a real looking treasure chest for parties or as a Halloween or theatre prop.

Its cute ... not as big as i expected , kept disinflating , had to pump it up twice in the party... Used it as a treasure goodie box for the kids after winning a game they would go pick somthing out the treasure box... Not great when it was falling apart lol...

I searched quite a while before finding the perfect Pirate Chest for my tabletop display. Cardboard chests are only usable for trinkets, but this can do double duty as an ice chest or a treasure holder. I needed something to sit on a glass table, and this lightweight blow up model is perfect. The vinyl is very durable, and if a sharp edge happens to pierce one of the cells, there are several blow up points, so you don't damage the whole piece. Probably better to blow this up my mouth instead of a pump, as you don't want to overblow the individual cells.
