I was very disappointed in this.For the price I would have thought it would have had a bottom in it. It was just a heavy piece of construction paper. Not even as good as a cheap gift box from the dollar store.

maybe I didn't read the product description right, but I was not aware this had no bottom. I bought it to use instead of a gift bag to take a present to a pirate themed birthday party. I was able to construct a bottom out of the cardboard that came with the product, but I really was expecting a complete box, not something to just sit on the table.

A little flimsy

The first thing that surprised me about this centerpiece is it has no bottom! I was planning on filling it with plastic gold coins, so I cut up the cardboard it was packaged with and used some tape to make a bottom. The other disappointing part was it didn't seem to want to shut the way it was. If yours isn't shutting right, trim the rounded tops of the sides of the chest; it's the top being too high that causes this. Thankfully, it's just thin cardboard, so it trims easily. Other than those two fixable problems, it will survive one party as a centerpiece. I wouldn't count on it for a long term use, but for a one-time party, it'll be fine.
