I wore this for Halloween 2011. The whole family dressed as pirates this year. We had lots of fun with it. I browsed dozens of costumes for all of us. I had no idea there were so many. I finally settled on this costume. It was cute, yet not sleezy which is what i wanted. The shirt part (blue w/faux belts) was snug, but fit well. It was a bit tight in the bust, but not too bad. I'd think a larger breasted woman (above a D cup) would have issues with it fitting properly. The petticoat skirt was oddly made, one side had elastic, the other no elastic just flat fabric. I used a safety pin on either side to take up any slack and it fit snug and comfy w/no issues. it was longer than in the picture but i am short (5'1"). i have shorter legs, and a longer torso. it hit me at mid thigh. I paired this with tights, black and white vertical stripes, and wore the boot covers over ankle boots. the boot covers fit well, i liked that they only covered to the ankle and didnt have that odd fabric covering the shoes which in my opinion can look a bit 'cartoonish' on adult costumes. The faux belt on the shirt does NOT go all the way around, something i found really odd, and a bit disapointing. i was very tempted to go buy a couple of scarfs and use them to cover the weird "half sash/belt" and use my own belts, but decided not to bother. the hair band is pretty distressed looking, it was slightly frayed, but honestly just have accented the whole 'pirate look' i guess. It was a cute costume.

Looks just "ok". the small velcro closures (only 2 small round fasteners between upper back/neck to mid back) left awkward gap. If you're going to just stand against a wall at your party/event then this will work. The "petticoat" was a paper sheet - think of that lap cover when you go for your annual appt. Yeah - weird! And it's not sized for various sizes of the costume (ie. S, M, L) so I had to pin a large section making it look like I had a strange looking bussle. If you need a cheap/quickie, "ne time and you're done" this will work but you can do better - especially for the price.

great costume. skirt was large, but made it work with some safety pins

The actual dress part is very cute. The off white petticoat that goes under the dress is very disappointing. It is HUGE and of very poor quality. It fits pretty true to size, but is a bit snug around the breast area.
