A Bit Pricey for the Quality
I purchased this costume for my 15-year-old daughter to dress as "Christine Daae" from "Phantom of the Opera" for her Halloween piano recital. It is of much higher quality that what I can purchase in our rural community, but I am unimpressed with the velcro fastenings in the back. I am not convinced that a $55 dress should not have a zipper or button closures (even if its price lowers, the original price should reflect its quality). The petticoat is nothing more than a stiff fabric, not exactly a petticoat in the true sense of the word.
That said, however, it is nice and she says it is not itchy. It is a little tight on her torso, so the velcro comes open easily (for reference, she wears a juniors 7-9 pants, medium t-shirts), but she wears a hooded velvet cape with it so the fact that it comes open in the back is not an issue. This would definitely fit better on smaller-framed young women.
It is also very wrinkled when it arrives, so you must let it hang or carefully iron out wrinkles. Just be sure you order it in time to press it before use.
