I ordered this hat to go with a pirate costume for Halloween. It was large for my head and probably will be for most girls. My pirate costume came with a bandana so I tied that on first to help the hat fit better. The hat has an attached piece of burgundy fabric that is supposed to look like a bandana (not shown in the picture) that you tie in the back but I don’t think it helped it stay on at all. Also the product picture doesn’t show it but the hat has fake hair braids attached all around the inside to look like Johnny Depp from POTC. Neither the product picture nor description prepared me for that. I cut the hair out and just wore the hat. I think it is a good hat for the price (8.99). All the hats I could find that seemed to be made for women were too expensive to just wear one night.

We used the Pirates of the Caribbean hat/beard combo for my son's 3rd birthday. Since the theme was superheros, all of the kids dressed as superheros and the grandpas dressed up as "villians". The kids chased them around the house, captured them, and wrapped them up with toilet paper. It was hilarious and everyone had a great time.

Worked for my show "Peter Pan"

I'm a costumer and I bought two of these hats for the production of "Peter Pan". Most times the critics don't even mention the costumes but the critics said costumes for this show were well done especially the pirates! This hat with the coatee made my actor look great he loved it. Thanks, Auntie Mimi
