Everything I wanted to know about these Flutes...

These glasses were a great find for a 30th Wedding Anniversary party for our parents! It was a casual elegant event and we knew we needed toasting glasses, but I dreaded using those ones that snap-together because, as we all know, some of them always fall apart when you raise your glass during the toast. I searched in vain locally and gave up and went online even though our party was a mere 5 days away! When I stumbled upon these flutes they looked really lovely and I especially liked that they were a tall-slim flute instead of a short-wide one. I decided to take a chance with an online order! I ordered them on a wednesday using express shipping. It was a pricey gamble, but I couldn't have been more impressed with BuyCostumes.com and their amazing response! As each step of their processing was completed they sent updated emails and by the end of that day the glasses were on their way! And they arrived on Friday as promised! The glasses themselves are thin plastic. I would say it's equal in quality to that of those other plastic snap-together style glasses I spoke of. But the tall shape really is lovely and is a natural secure fit in your hand (young toddlers and kiddos delighted in using them for juice with NO spills at the event) AND no falling bottoms. I was alarmed when first removing them from the box as they have a melted-plastic-smear on the stem...some factory processing-spooge...and initially this was disappointing. They also are a bit wobbly on the table especially when empty and there's an occasional cracked base here and there (but remember it's that cheap-ish plastic we're talking about). HOWEVER, when these are filled, even with water, the spooge-thing is virtually unnoticeable and they remain quite stable at your table in spite of any wobbles or cracks. An impressive feat for super cheap glasses in my book! If these aren't going to be the main focus of your event and if you're not partying with flute-nit-pickers, then I think these are a great choice!

some glasses were already cracked when i recieved them and some broke easly after simple handling.
