I bought this costume for my husband because we couldn't decide what to be and this looked like a good option for him. When it arrived, we were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the costume. It fit him great and we think we can probably use the pieces for other costumes in the future. The last two years, my husband rented costumes and he felt that this was pretty much as good in terms of quality as the costumes he had rented for about the same cost. We were very pleased, even though it was a bit on the expensive side.

This is a really fun costume. It's well made with great materials and interesting components. I will be substituting the belt which lacked quality-wise, but everything else is better than expected.

Great fit, material was worth the cash. We bought the set for male and female & they looked great together! Careful with the shirt in the wash!!
Great costume. High quality

As with all of the period costumes, there are pieces that can't be substituted with items from one's closet. The boot covers don't work particularly well (too wide at the top and darker than most leather shoes) but with a little engineering, they can be worn. The pants look fairly authentic and the individual pieces (shirt, vest, capalette) are much better than cheaper costumes where these pieces are all one. I've taken lots of liberties to authenticate the costume and make it my own. It works by itself or as a base for these efforts.
