Adequate for the purpose to be used, but lacking in durability. But based on the price this is not surprising.

My husband wore these with the Marc Antony tunic. Before he put the leg guards on, he looked a bit "naked"... typical pasty "man legs". The leg guards really finished the look. The only drawback is that they are one size fits all. They do lace up in the back but if you have more slender legs, these leg guards tend to rotate around your leg as you walk.

Our family really enjoys going to renaissance fairs and this year we decided to dress in the period clothing. So after dusting off the sewing machine and making my husbands costume and then my gown I started on my 11 year old sons costume. Being a tween he did not really like the choice of peasant or royality clothing and wanted a costume with a military flare to it. I sewed some basic pants and sleeveless tunic (Summertime in Oklahoma) for him and added the Roman Leg Guards (as well as the arm guards) and suddenly he was very cool looking as a mercenary warrior from the late 1500's. Definately a great product for the price and looks like real leather!

These are great. We have been getting costumes for our VBS for the past three years and I think this is the best quality item we have seen. It works very well with the arm guards and the chest protector we also purchased.
