Nice piece for an accent, definately a plastic toy sword when you look at it, but think it adds to costume.

Fun addition to a Samurai costume

My fiance dressed as a samurai and wanted a cool sword to carry. I saw a lot of other really cheap looking ones, but this one is very cool. It is very detailed and a really good quality. A lot of people at the party wanted to play with it!

looks cool on a mantle

If you dont plan to handle it much, well its ok. It looks of higher quality than it is. My son has a collection of real decorative swords/knifes and at a glance this sword seems like one of them. However; look closer you can see its plastic, and pick it up,well forget it, its lightweight and flimsy. Its a little more expensive than some toy-swords, and that is reflected in the artistic detail. If it were just a little more sturdy i could give it that next star.

The plastic blade could be a little more firm but it isn't bad. It hasn't bent yet but he hasn't played with it that much. Overall the sword is very nice and my son loves it. Be aware that it is 48" long. I didn't really pay attention to that when I ordered it and it is taller than my son. He doesn't mind that except he has trouble unsheathing it. Looks kinda like when the magician pulls the never ending cloth from his sleeve LOL. Great sword
