Very elegant but not the best sewing job. Ofcourse i realize it is a costume but when some of the seams are not sewn in or the gatherings uneven, it shows outwardly. It is long by no stretch of the imagination especially for a 5 ft tall person. However, it is very beautiful and worth the purchase. I only wish you add more XS sizing to your costumes.

When I received the dress it was not exactly as pictured. They had done away with the "coriset" look in the front and instead it was all cheap purple crushed velvet. It was also waaay too long on me (i'm 5'4") Ended up returning the costume for a full refund. I will say that buycostumes.com was very good about processing my refund in a timely manner.

Show-stopping costume!

Believe me, if you're willing to spend the money this costume will blow you out of the water! I'm 5"11, 165lb and my measurements are: Bust: 35.5, Waist: 29.5 and Hips: 38. I got the Medium and the fit was spot-on. The dress is absolutely amazing, great quality and really comfortable. It zips up the back and can be worn either on or off the shoulder. The petticoat has a drawstring and it's very long - I'm very tall and I had to tie it high up on my waist but that wasn't a problem. The hoop is easy to put in and comes with simple instructions, and it doesn't make the dress as wide as it looks in the picture, thank heavens. There's also a long purple ribbon which you tie up at the back so you can draw in the waist if you need it. The hat looks nice but the ribbon is too long - there's nowhere to put it but the front and it hides the front of the dress (see the photo). The lace gloves are comfortable and look very cute. I also got the parasol (I'm not wearing the gloves and I don't have the parasol in the photo though). Overall it's a magnificent costume!

Loved this costume! Be careful when 'installing' the hoop, though. I actually cracked it, but when it doubled over the other side, it was just fine. Just take your time and don't force it. As you can tell by the price, this thing is an investment, but for us, it was worth it. Paired it with the Southern Gentleman and it was definitely a hit.

Loved this costume

This costume is fun. I won best costume on Halloween. Loved the way it felt on. The cover picture isn't quite what the dress actually is, but very close. I bought the blond wig featured on the page (don't waste your money on it). Wig is cheaply made and way too small. Didn't fit on my head. Fit is a bit small in the bodice. Plenty long enough and I am tall.
