Title: Sturdy/quality costume, but lose the pin
Date: Nov 20, 2009
If you're looking for a costume based on the 2009 Trek movie, this is probably your highest-quality option for the price; the tunic itself is a separate article of clothing, with the black undershirt being long-sleeved and of the same slick, comfortable material (that extra layer also means that the combo is a suitable choice for wear in cooler weather). The delta-pattern looks very good, and I was surprised at the studiness of both the seams and the rank-braids (they're stitched a lot more solidly in place than the rank-braids of most of the long-sleeved Original Series unforms available back in the day)
There is, however, one definite downside--the included emblem pin itself, which in terms of quality just can't compare to the rest of the product The emblem is glaringly toylike--a thin, gray-colored and obviously-plastic affair (whose single small pin mechanism won't hold it too securely to the shirt)--if you're looking for that solid metallic look, you'll want to hit it with some paint...or replace it entirely. Also, have faith in their sizing options--if you're a 'medium' kind of guy, don't order a 'large,' thinking you'll somehow need to overcompensate; this sort of resilient, stretchy costume will actually look better if it's a bit snug on you.
But back to the shirt/undershirt combo: Mine has already stood up to unreasonably-rough, post-Halloween treatment beyond the call of duty (being wadded up, jammed into travel bags, worn in a variety of everyday conditions--in other words, treated like an actual Starfleet uniform might be treated), and it still looks and feels great....and if some sort of 'uber-Prestige' version ever becomes available that addresses the pin emblem issue, I'll definitely order another one!

Title: Not quite worthy of the name "Grand Heritage"'
Date: Nov 19, 2009
The XL shirt I purchased was still a bit large on me and I usually like to wear XXL sizes. The sleeves were very long but my wife took them in for me. They are also big around the arms. The cheap plastic pin was disappointing too and not worthy of the name "Grand Heritage" Other than that the costume was pretty cool. I liked having the undershirt and overshirt like in the movie, although the undershirt does not have an arrow embroidered on it like the undershirt you can purchase separately.
Overall OK but I wish I had paid less for it.
