Not as represented
This is not as represented in the picture. The hair is very, very sparse, completely exposing the skull cap. I purchased a wig at Halloween City and hand-sewed it onto the cap, which made a BIG difference and actually made it look more like the picture. The top is sewn wrong, making it sit funny on the body if you wear anything bigger than a training bra. The arms are also very, very itchy. I took the arms off and tacked the collar down up front, which made it fit much better. I then just wore a long sleeved black shirt underneath, which made this much more bearable to wear (i.e., it was breathable, much cooler, and no longer itchy). The skirt is okay, but see-through. So plan on wearing a skirt, black tights, and adding black boots. The belt is also very shoddy and flimsy. So I quickly made a better one with some plain black cotton fabric (cut a 4" wide strip, sewed it in half, turned it inside out, placed 2 "D rings" on one end, sewed a flap over them, and placed a hem on the other end), which worked much better. I work at a school and was needing to wear this all day. The badges and emblems were all really flimsy and barely attached. So I pulled them all off, laminated them, and then hot glued pin backings on them. This made them much more sturdy for a full day at work and another full night at a party. If you do this, just be sure to place at least 2 pin backings on each item so that they attach more securely and aren't flopping around. Also, the skull cap is made for a very small adult head. Make sure to test it out ahead of time to see if it fits. If it is too small, heat it with a hair dryer and stretch it over a ball or small watermelon to cool. This will stretch it out nicely. Hint: measure around your head and then find an object that is either the same size or 1"-2" bigger to make sure you get it stretched to the right size. With all the modifications listed, this actually turned out to be a great costume. My husband wore the male outfit and I wore the female outfit (both modified). We won the costume contest at the party, which was fun. The skull cap really is the main reason to purchase this costume. I didn't find them in any local store (though this particular costume was being sold on many other sites for 2x-3x as much money), and we will have them for a very long time. I will probably eventually sew better clothing pieces, but all in all, if you want a Klingon costume, and you can get this one for $30 or less, it is worth it just for the skull cap.
