The light saber broke within minutes of opening it. The blue "saber" part simply fell apart upon opening. The button popped right off. Thank goodness we had another light saber toy in the basement or my son's costume would be incomplete. It should have cost .99 cents not $11.00 - officially licensed or not, we were very disappointed.

For the price, this product was decent. The light bulb is dim, and the blade is a little bit bent. I would have prefered a higher quality lightsaber replica, but those cost more.

I didn't expect a whole lot for the price. All in all it was fine. I'll probably never use it again so the price was right. One thing to note is that when the light is on it is not very bright. In a dark room it would probably be ok but in a well lit room it didn't really show up very well. It also didn't last very long as the light saber became separated from the handle while demonstrating Jedi light sabre techniques! Easily repairable with a little glue. So in short I'm happy I got it, it served its purpose, it completed the Obi Wan Kenobi effect at low cost and the grandkids were impressed.

We bought 2 of these, both broke minutes after opening the packages. Both buttons fell off right away, one wouldn't extend, the light is dimmer than the flame from a match. I guess I'll just have to back down from any lightsaber fights at the party and carry it around as a lame prop. If only the next model up was 30$ instead of 199$, I would have bought that. I would not recommend buying this product. Instead, go out, find a stick and paint it light blue. :)

I bought my first light saber many years ago when I last dressed as Darth Vader. The quality was okay for it's time. Apparently things have gotten worse with age as it pertains to quality for a similar item today (in this case, an Obi Wan light saber). My biggest complaint is the shoddy electronics involved. The on / off switch doesn't work unless you finess the switch. The bulb housing group popped right out of the compartment when I first installed the batteries. All in all I got what I paid for...cheap prop at best.
