We purchased 6 costumes for dress-up play and this one was the first my daughter went for. The hat is especially FAB-U-lous. She tells me it's comfortable too, though she doesn't use the tie on arm bands provided. We also chose the larger size for this costume compared to the others and I'm glad I did, otherwise the skirt would be on the short side.

Sorry - not good at all

I ordered this costume in a size small - expecting that it would fit my grand child in the next couple of years. She is 2 years and 3 months old (usually wears a size 2T) and this costume already fits her now and she is long, thin and under developed for her age. It is very economically made of a fragile, gauzy material so I don't see it lasting many wears. The hat came flattened like a pancake of course and no amount of cajoling or twigging could make it even slightly resemble the hat in the picture. I would have to totally remodel it somehow. The hat is also too shallow for any child's head and too long in proportion so looks ridiculous - I will have to go out and buy another child's pirate hat. The costume could actually be adapted to be either a pirate or vampire or renaissance costume so don't let it limit you. I bought this on sale in clearance so only because of that is it worth it.

Adequate to Good Costume

We have a pirate theme for the family. MY little one picked out this costume from the Website. It is well made and I like the hat. However, she does not look like a pirate at all. She does look like a Musketeer. We will need a lot of Pirate accessories to help her out with this one. But, my 5 year old LOVES her costume and that is what counts.
