My 13 yr old daughter is a size 3/5 in juniors. We ordered the M/L. The outfit is made from good material. It did not tear when we pulled and tugged to get the zipper up. The costume runs small and it is very short. My daughter is 5ft tall and the skirt just about covers her when she stands up straight. Shorts or something else underneath is required. For a small sized tween - this would be a very cute costume (with shorts underneath). It's not big enough for a 13 yr old.

my daughter is in a size 3/5 in clothing and I bought this for her in the medium it DOES NOT fit her at ALL! This shows a tall girl but it is made for a girl who is like 5'2 or shorter! and it is more like a child size 6 not teen size med....just an fyi!

I REALLY liked this costume, but when I got it, it didn't really fit, so I recommend getting the bigger size because the small is really too small. But I LOVED this costume!!! It's sooo CUTE!

Using sizing chart on website leaves you with childsized teenage costume- very wrong!

I was so excited when I got this costume in the mail! I got a S/M and it fits PERFECT, but if I were to go back I'd probably just get the M/L so I don't have to worry about accidentally tearing it every so often. My advice is if you are thinking of getting an S/M, and you're not extremely petite, get the M/L. But anyway, the quality is AWESOME! A little short, but that's okay, because I'm wearing shorts under. Overall, this is my favorite costume yet! :)
