Title: Best for Hourglass Figures
Date: Nov 20, 2009
I'm 5' 7", a 34DD (39" bust) with a 30" waist and 38" hips. I wore this for an outdoor Halloween party in L.A. and felt perfectly warm in the chilly air. I trimmed off some of the length of the sheer cape and added in a homemade wolf tail and fangs to be Little Were Riding Hood. I got great compliments on it all night.
Please note that this costume consists of 3 separate pieces: the hood & cape, the bodice, and the skirt (with attached petticoat inside). With the exception of the thin, nylon and lace petticoat sewn into the skirt, and the sheer nylon cape attached to the hood, all materials are a decent and sturdy velvet. This may be a bit more expensive than the typical costume, but the stitching is solid and the materials do not look or feel cheap like so many of the thin, nylon and minimally stitched costumes that dominate the stores.
As a naturally bustier girl, the top was comfortable and a great fit for me, but I can understand how many may say that area runs big. If it is, I suggest a really great push up bra with some padding to fill it out more. This top seems to be made for someone with a small waist, smaller bra band size and larger bust. The length of the bodice is best for those with an average length torso. As my torso is a bit longer, my waist would occasionally show on the sides and back, but this was a minor issue. Please note that the back of the bodice zips up to mid back (to just over your bra band), then ties in back along the shoulder/neckline.
The skirt is a bit shorter than maybe I'd like, but is not so short as to look obscene in public. I wore black microfiber tights and black micro shorts underneath to make sure I preserved some modesty. The attached petticoat also helps to conceal, but is a bit scratchy along the lace bottom. A very short, solid black running skirt might be a good option to wear under this, too.
All in all, solid construction, sturdy materials, and looked great. Even better, individual pieces could be incorporated into a different costume if you'd like as they are all separate. Or, if you want to put a personal spin on it, you can add in one of your own pieces to the existing ones. Well worth the money!

Title: Love the Gold
Date: Nov 18, 2009
I love the black and gold combo. As other reviews state, fringe arm bands don't really stay in place. They do slip down, but for me, that's fine. Maybe you want to try stiching elastic onto the band. I am 5'4", 35x27x37, 127-137lbs. Medium fits perfect. Make sure you get a petticoat. Back is short!
