The purchase was okay, I had to take in the waist as it was too large & I had to alter the front as it was too modest. After I altered & tweaked a few things, it was fine. Negatives, the collar on the cape kept falling limp. The train in the back kept snagging on my heel straps all night.

Got this, and was so excited, it looks really cute, I had read the reviews, and knew the back would be lace, but thought I could just wear leggings, so was not to worried about that... I saw mixed reviews on sizing, I normally wear a size 6-8 so I ordered the Med. but I could not even get it over my thighs and hips because there was no elastic, zippers or ties :( Not sure if I am going to be able to send it back, or just get it adjusted...

A back picture would've been nice

I bought for my daughter to wear for a school presentation. She needed something Victorian Gothic. I costume is fine from the front, however there was no picture of the costume from the back so I was unaware that the back is made mostly of lace. The non see through material is too short. Had there been a picture of the back I would have kept looking for something else to spend my money on. So I will have sew in extra material so she could wear it, which is what I was trying to avoid in the first place.

GREAT BASE COSTUME for my needs!

Halloween is my time to show off the most & I have to go the extra mile! This was my base for myself and my boyfriend with the men's version. OK... nothing could stop me from laughing hystarically at the back of this as it came!! it made NO sense why it was done with a short flap to cover your bum!!! And as for sizing, wow... I sent the medium back as stepping into it (no zippers) would barely pass half up my thighs. Only an preadolescent could have worn it. The large was great, just took a little shimmying and I got it on... Much raw edges. NOW, the GOOD stuff! The materials are wonderful and it is very well made! I was EXSTATIC to use this as a base to capture the Victorian bussel I wanted... With a few yards of ribbon, leme' & lace I was able to add to it an amazing bussel & accent the caplet & also add a female jabot!! I anticiated the time I would spend to add to any halloween costume for me, and with this one I WAS PLEASED beyond belief with what I was able to make it, to satisfy me & my love of costumes & details!!!! Classy Costume!

I thoroughly enjoyed sporting this costume. It was comfortable, classy and fun all at the same time. As I've read in previous ratings for this costume...it is true that the collar will not stay up on it's own...so I just made a little slit on the side of the collar and inserted a clothing hanger bent to the same shape of the collar and pinned it to the back of my hair with a bobby pin...worked out great! Lovvvved it...
