I have a 4 year old girl of average height. She loves, loves, loves Word Girl. She likes to role play that she's Word Girl and I'm her side kick, Huggie Face. Anyway, she's learning new words and having tons of fun. The costume is perfect and I rate it 5 stars for the fun factor. However, the costume needs to be larger in the croch. It would probably be perfect for a 3T or a bit younger, but too small for a typical 4T. I hope this review alerts customer service and I see a new free one in my mailbox soon. My daughter could then fight the villans for at least another year!

This costume was very hard to find other places. Unfortunately, the seams were not reinforced so it had to be treated gingerly, not an easy feat when dealing with small children. The hood seams were not even sewn in many places so there were holes in it. The velcro closures on the hood and costume had very sharp edges making them uncomfortable. If you don't have a child insisting on being Word Girl, move on to something else. If I had the time to return the costume I would have.

I bought this for my 5-year-old girl's "come as your favorite superhero" night at AWANA. She looked cute in it and wore it most of the evening, as it was fairly comfortable, But...the boot covers, at the bottom of the legs, had been sewn on backwards, with the part that's supposed to cover the shoes covering her heels instead. She didn't mind, but the quality control in the manufacture of this item is obviously lacking. Also, it would have been nice if the "helmet" had been a bit puffy and round rather than fitting to her head (since Word Girl's helmet is round), but I knew from the website beforehand that it was fitted. Also, though I'm not a flashy person normally, this costume could have used some "flash" to make it more fun and noticeable...Perhaps some glitter or sequines for excitement? Just a thought. Overall, I'm a bit disappointed in this costume. The cost and quality did not match up.

Velcro on hood and cape rubbed on neck. Removed and sewed on tie strings. Worked great. Bought the biggest size as my daughter is tall. It just fit.
