This was an awesome costume, my Tyler was the best one at the whole school, everyone kept coming back to his booth. With the wig he looked like a mini Ben Franklin, price great, product great-you won't be disappointed.

Outfit looks cute-a bit on the smaller side. Buttons are just glued on.

Waste of money!

This costume came packaged in such a way that the hat was completed smooshed. It never did regain the shape it was supposed to have. We also purchased the "colonial stockings" to go with the outfit - they were huge and sagged on my 9-yr old.. This costume was overpriced and a HUGE disappointment. We will not order from you again.

Benjamin Franklin costume

My son needed a costume for school to be dressed up appropriately and speak in front of his class to explain who he was and why he was an important person in history. The costume fit him perfectly and he received many compliments. He reecived 25 out of 25 points for his oral presentation, props and costume. His final grade was an "O" for outstanding. buycostumes.com made his performance more authentic and for this we are so glad your company existed. Many thanks for the quick delivery !

Good school project costume

The main pieces of the costume were great. The hat was far too small. We couldn't even get it to open large enough for a younger child's head. The shoe covers were too small. But the main part of the costume was wonderful! The fit was great and my son was very pleased with the results.

Great Costume!

We bought this for our son who was presenting during a History Fair and had to wear the costume all day. The costume looked very nice and was priced well. Several other people mentioned that the hat that comes with the costume was warped beyond repair and this was the same situation with us. The problem is that the hat is made of vinyl and the packaging does not supply any support for it so it gets flattened. By the time you get it, the vinyl "remembers" its flat state and it is impossible to get the hat to look right. Too bad, because the hat would otherwise look nice. We used the Ben Franklin Heroes In History Kit (Product ID: #10162) which includes a wig and this worked very well. Besides the hat, the only other problem we had was that two of the buttons came off. My son was running around with other kids during clean up so that may have taken it toll on the buttons. Most likely, they would not have come off during normal use like Halloween or a school play. The guest speaker was Mark Collins who played George Washington on History Channel's "The Revolution" (he was excellent in the show and as a speaker!). The picture shows the two old friends together 222 years after the Constitutional Convention!

The costume was an intergral part of a 4th grade school inventor project. The costume received rave reviews from, students, teachers and parents. It fit well out of the box. The hat could really use a re-design. We tried everything in our power to straighten and unfold the hat. In the end, the hat was marginal at best.

Ben Franklin Costume

This costume was true to size and very cute. The knickers, vest, and shoe guards are very cute. Unfortunately, the hat is not so nice. It came wrinkled and will not de-wrinkle. Plus it is so small it does not even fit on the childs head and I have a small child. Good thing we ordered the wig because the hat is a waste of the costume.

Great Famous American Costume

The costume arrived quickly, much to the excitement of my nine year old son who is going to wear it for Famous American Day at his school. It is well made with great color. I do believe that it runs a little small since we obtained a large (size 12-14) and it fits him perfectly although he normally wears size 10 pants. I am disappointed with the hat because it is not the same quality as the costume itself. We have been unable to shape it to look good; however, the costume and shoe covers look great. Hopefully, if we play a little more with the hat we will be able to adjust the shape to look good.
