  • History better than Disney

    Pocahontas is widely known for saving Captain John Smith's life, but he is not the man she married. Her husband, and the father of her child, was English settler John Rolfe. My husband and I enjoyed playing his 7th great grandparents for Halloween this year. The Pocahontas costume is a great buy, and you could not make it for cheaper buying the fabric from a store. It has great accessories like a belt and handbag -- useful for tucking wallets and things in as you go from party to party. Buy some leather shoe strings for hair ties, and pick up a pair of mocassins. It's easy to add a headband. You've got a great simple costume with easily adjustable sizing.
