I knew I was going to get a decent felt bowler from reading previous reviews, but was very surprised by the overall quality of the hat. It's not only 100% wool felt, but it's nicely made in the states. The fit was a little snug (despite measuring my head for a medium), so I should have gotten a large. Otherwise, it's a great hat.

Cheap construction, not worth the extra price. You're better off getting one of the super cheap derby hats, because that's exactly what this is. Mine also arrived with a giant dent in the side.

This was a good hat for the money in the size Medium that I originally ordered. Unfortunately, it was a little small for my husband's head, although his measurements matched those given on the chart for medium. So I reordered a large for him, thinking this would be better. The large hat arrived as promised, but it was nowhere near the quality of the medium hat. The medium hat had a band around it, whereas the large did not, and the large hat fit no better than the medium. I was a little disappointed, but my husband wore the medium hat and made it work.
