Easy Realistic Scar Makeup Tutorial by BeautifulYouTV

Easy Realistic Scar Makeup Tutorial by BeautifulYouTV

Our friend and makeup SFX artist, Karina, better known by YouTube handle BeautifulYouTV, has shown us how to create Halloween makeup looks around everything from cute Minions costumes to terrifying creepy clowns. Today, she’s back with an easy and simple Halloween makeup and special effects technique that can be used to make just about any costume a little bit spookier.

This method of creating super realistic fake scars uses rigid collodion instead of wax, which shrinks the skin into a scarred appearance. Fake blood and a couple of costume prop weapons make it look even cooler.

To learn how to create this look for your own Halloween costume, watch Karina’s video tutorial:

Hello, beautiful!

Today I’m going to show you to create a fast Halloween look in no longer than 15 minutes. And, I’m doing this in collaboration with the amazing and talented Silvia, so be sure to check out and subscribe to her channel.

I start out by drawing a sketch of my scar, which I draw using a nude pencil.

Next, I make the line less visible by smudging it with my finger. You can also use a soft brush if you want to.

Here comes the most important product for this tutorial: rigid collodion. It is a scarring liquid which wrinkles the skin as it dries. I apply a few layers for a better effect.

Once applied, I let the product dry for a few minutes, and then move onto the cream colors in order to give a scars a more realistic finish. I used a combination of pink and nude colors in order to achieve the effect of the fresh scar.

To complete your look, you may want to use a fake knife, sword, or any similar accessory. I got mine from BuyCostumes.com, and that’s it!

Thank you for watching, I hope you enjoyed this tutorial. All products used are listed in the video description box.  Please also support me by subscribing and liking this video; I would really appreciate if you shared this video with your friends, too.
