New Year’s Drink Recipes from Sandra Lee

Christmas is known for the spirit of the season, but as far as we’re concerned, New Year’s Eve is all about the spirits of the season. Thanks to our friend Sandra Lee, we’re bringing you six awesome drink recipes that you can serve up at your New Year’s party or holiday party. Each drink corresponds to a special New Year’s party theme, all of which we’ll be sharing in more detail later (for now, let’s just get to the good parts).

Vanilla Cinnamon Punch

for the Black & White Ball

This punch is super simple to make, and is sure to be a hit with all of your guests.

Makes 12 to 16 servings.

You’ll need:

  • 1 gallon vanilla ice cream, softened
  • 1 cup Bulleit® Bourbon
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Working in two batches, in a blender, combine half the ice cream, bourbon, vanilla, and cinnamon and process until smooth. Pour the first batch into a punch bowl and repeat for second batch.


 

Cherry Chocolate Cocktail

for the Mad Masquerade

A masquerade ball makes for an incredible New Year’s experience, but there’s no need to mask your love for chocolate. Ever.

Makes 1 cocktail.

You’ll need:

  • 2 tablespoons chocolate syrup
  • 2 ounces Baileys® Chocolate Cherry Irish Cream Liqueur
  • 1/2 ounce Smirnoff® No. 21 Vodka
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup seltzer

In a 12-ounce glass, stir together chocolate syrup, liqueur, vodka, and milk. Top with seltzer and stir. Serve immediately.


 

Snowy Coconut Cocktail

for the Casino Party

No need to roll the dice; serving these coconut-infused cocktails at a casino party (or anywhere, really) is a guaranteed win.

Makes 8 servings.

You’ll need:

  • 1 1⁄2 cups sweetened flaked coconut
  • 8 ounces vanilla-flavored candy coating
  • 4 1⁄2 cups half-and-half
  • 1 1⁄2 cups Captain Morgan Parrot Bay® Coconut Rum
  • 3⁄4 cup Godiva® white chocolate liqueur

Place coconut in a medium bowl. In a medium microwave-safe bowl, microwave candy coating according to package directions until melted. Stir until smooth. Dip rims of eight glasses in candy coating and in coconut flakes. Let stand.

In a large pitcher, combine half-and-half, rum, and white chocolate liqueur, stirring well. Pour into prepared glasses.


 

Merry Martinis

for the Neon Glow Party

Makes 4 servings.

You’ll need:

  • Ice
  • 1⁄2 cup melon liqueur
  • 1 cup Smirnoff® Sorbet Light White Peach Vodka
  • 1 cup white cranberry or apple juice
  • Fresh cranberries, for garnish (optional)

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.  Add liqueur, vodka, and cranberry juice. Cover and shake vigorously. Strain into cocktail glasses. Garnish with cranberries, if desired.


 

Cranberry Cosmo

for the Flappers & Gangsters Party

Match these drinks with a 1920s party theme for a real swanky soiree.

Makes 1 cocktail.

You’ll need:

  • Ice
  • 2 ounces cranberry juice cocktail
  • 1 ounce Smirnoff® Cranberry Flavored Vodka
  • 1 teaspoon grenadine
  • Fresh cranberries, for garnish (optional)

Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice cubes. Add juice, vodka, and grenadine. Shake with ice, and strain into martini glass. Garnish with three or four fresh cranberries, if desired.


 

Cranberry Champagne Cocktail

for the Glitz & Glam New Year’s Party

These classy red cocktails are perfect for turning any New Year’s party into a glamorous celebration!

Makes 8 cocktails.

You’ll need:

  • 2 cups chilled cranberry juice
  • 1 bottled (750 ml) chilled Stellina di Notte Prosecco

Pour 1⁄4 cup cranberry juice into each of 8 champagne flutes. Top with chilled Prosecco. Serve immediately.
