The Deadpool Trailer is Out, and it’s Amazing
The first official full trailer for the Deadpool movie has been released, and, as reflected in Extra’s April Fool’s joke from a few months ago, the movie will be rated R and not PG-13.
This is, indeed, the Red Band trailer, which is definitely NSFW, depending on where you work. In other words, plug in some headphones and just make sure your boss isn’t standing right behind you when you press play. (There are butts and cursing, both of which are obviously super-scandalous.)
For the slightly less interesting, but still epic, standard trailer – also on 20th Century’s YouTube page – click here.
Not only are we happy to see the freeway scene from last year’s leaked CGI test footage re-created in live action, but Ryan Reynolds’ performance is meshing with Deadpool’s sense of humor brilliantly. Humor “never survives” the lab when Wade Wilson is given his powers, but he still manages to make a fourth-wall-breaking crack about Green Lantern.
We also get to see him unmasked, in his scarred and disfigured state (with an absolutely sick makeup job), and there are a couple of quick looks at Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Andre Tricoteux as the X-Men’s Colossus, as well.
As for that costume, it was first revealed when Ryan Reynolds wore it to pose on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace, a la his namesake, Burt:
Luxurious. Deadpool wears his red suit so the bad guys can’t see him bleed, and we’ll have you covered, too:
More details on Deadpool costumes soon to come!
